Back Side of the Blue Hole takes divers around the far edge of one of Andros Island's famous inland blue holes. The rear approach reveals a dramatic overhang where the limestone shelf extends over the abyss below. Stalactites formed during the Ice Age hang from the ceiling of the overhang, evidence of a time when sea levels were much lower. The thermocline creates shimmering visual effects as fresh and salt water mix. Intermediate divers can explore the upper reaches while marveling at the geological wonder.
