Wreck of the Waome in Ontario is an advanced freshwater wreck dive in Lake Muskoka on a 1920s steamship that sank during a storm. The wooden-hulled vessel rests at depth in the cold, dark waters of the lake, remarkably well-preserved by the freshwater environment. The ship's structure including the wheelhouse, boiler, and decking is still identifiable. The cold lake water has slowed decomposition, keeping the wreck in impressive condition for its age. Lake trout and other freshwater species inhabit the wreck area. The historical significance of this Muskoka Lakes steamer and its excellent state of preservation make it a must-dive for Ontario wreck enthusiasts.
