Barcazas in Santa Marta Bay is an advanced wreck dive to 22 meters featuring sunken barges on the Caribbean seafloor. These industrial wrecks have become productive artificial reefs attracting diverse marine life within the bay's protected waters. The barge structures are covered in coral growth, sponges, and encrusting organisms, while schools of fish swirl around the wreckage. Nurse sharks, large moray eels, and lobsters make their homes in the dark compartments. The wreck's accessibility from Santa Marta's harbor makes it a convenient advanced dive option in the city.
