Punta Negra (Black Point) near Taganga is a beginner-friendly dive around a dark rocky point on Colombia's Caribbean coast. The volcanic-looking dark rocks continue underwater, creating a dramatic reef environment with excellent coral coverage. The sheltered side of the point offers calm conditions for beginners, while the reef supports healthy populations of parrotfish, wrasses, and damselfish. Brain corals, star corals, and encrusting sponges cover the dark rock substrate, creating a visually striking contrast that makes Punta Negra a photogenic Caribbean dive site.
