This flooded open-pit mine has been transformed into a popular recreational lake with a designated diving area. The lake offers reasonable visibility and a gentle slope from the shore, making it accessible for training and recreational dives. Submerged platforms and objects provide points of interest at various depths. Pike, perch, and carp inhabit the lake, along with crayfish in the rocky areas. The site is named after a local dive club and benefits from good infrastructure including parking and changing facilities. Kulkwitzsee Delfin is a go-to training site for Leipzig's active diving community.
