Salzgittersee

Salzgittersee is a beginner-friendly freshwater dive site in Lower Saxony, Germany. This artificial lake, created in the 1960s as a recreational area near Salzgitter, offers a convenient and accessible dive spot for the local diving community. The lake features a gently sloping sandy and muddy bottom with submerged vegetation along the shoreline. Freshwater species include pike, perch, carp, and tench. Several submerged training platforms and objects have been placed to enhance the diving experience. Visibility varies with algal conditions but is generally reasonable.
