
Isla Cotonera is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Cantabrian coast of northern Spain, featuring an island reef with diverse Atlantic marine life. The site offers a mix of rocky substrate and kelp forests typical of the Bay of Biscay. Divers can encounter octopuses, conger eels, wrasses, and various species of sea bream. The site is known for its colorful anemones and sponges covering the rocky walls. The protected position of the island provides good conditions for newer divers exploring Spain's Atlantic coastline.
