The northern tip of Meda Gran island in the Illes Medes marine reserve offers one of the Mediterranean's finest dives — a series of tunnels and caverns (the famous Dofí cave system) carved through the limestone, where enormous groupers, moray eels, and dense schools of barracuda inhabit waters protected since 1983. The site's no-take zone status has created a density of marine life rarely seen elsewhere in the western Mediterranean. Maximum depth 35 meters with spectacular swim-throughs accessible to Advanced Open Water divers.
