Riihiniemi is a beginner-friendly shore dive in central Finland's lake district, where a rocky cape provides easy access to varied underwater terrain. The site slopes gently from the shoreline over granite formations and sandy patches into deeper lake waters. Bladderwrack and freshwater vegetation create habitat for perch, pike, and crayfish. The cape's position generates mild currents that improve water exchange and visibility. Protected bays on either side of the promontory allow divers to choose conditions based on wind direction. A practical and reliable Finnish inland dive site that serves as an excellent introduction to freshwater diving in the Finnish Lakeland region.
