
Kaatialan louhos is a flooded quarry dive site near Ylöjärvi in Western Finland, offering beginner-friendly conditions in crystal-clear freshwater. This former stone quarry has filled with groundwater, creating a sheltered pool with exceptional visibility that can exceed 20 metres. The quarry walls descend in stepped terraces, providing natural depth references for training. Submerged quarry equipment and rock faces add visual interest to the dive. Water temperature stays cool but manageable in summer with a wetsuit. Kaatialan louhos is one of Finland's most popular inland dive sites, beloved by dive schools and photographers alike for its gin-clear water and easy shore access.
