Shark Island is an advanced dive off Kosrae in the Federated States of Micronesia, where a rocky islet surrounded by deep water attracts impressive aggregations of grey reef sharks. The island's underwater slopes drop steeply into blue water, with currents bringing nutrients that fuel the food chain from small reef fish to apex predators. Divers descend along the wall to a viewing ledge where sharks circle in the current. Beyond sharks, the site features healthy coral gardens, large groupers, and schooling pelagics. Kosrae's remote location in the eastern Caroline Islands means uncrowded diving and pristine reef conditions. An exceptional Pacific shark dive for experienced divers.
