Lac des Ciments is a former cement quarry lake north of Paris in the Oise valley, now repurposed as a popular inland dive site reaching 28 meters depth. The flooded quarry offers intermediate divers a fascinating artificial underwater landscape with submerged structures, equipment, and geological layers visible in the quarry walls. Visibility varies seasonally but can be surprisingly good in colder months. The site is managed for recreational diving and serves as a training ground for Parisian dive clubs seeking open water alternatives closer than the coast. Pike, perch, and carp inhabit the lake, and sunken objects placed for diver interest add an exploratory element to training dives.
