L'Astée is a deep wreck dive off the Côte Vermeille near Cerbère, close to the Spanish border. This cargo ship rests at around 47 meters on a sandy bottom, making it a challenging technical dive in the Mediterranean. The wreck structure is well-preserved and has become a thriving artificial reef colonized by gorgonian fans, cup corals, and dense marine growth. Large conger eels inhabit the hull cavities, while schools of dentex and amberjack patrol the surrounding waters. Strong currents can occur at this exposed site, and the depth demands careful gas planning. L'Astée rewards experienced divers with an atmospheric deep dive where the Pyrenees meet the sea.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
