Plongée à Châtillon (Chindrieux) is a deep freshwater dive site on Lac du Bourget, France's largest natural lake, nestled between the Jura and the Alps in Savoie. The site near the village of Chindrieux descends to an impressive 65 meters along steep underwater cliffs, making it a serious advanced and technical dive. The lake's remarkably clear waters reveal ancient geological formations, submerged trees, and a unique lacustrine ecosystem. Cold temperatures at depth (4-6°C year-round below the thermocline) demand dry suits and proper thermal protection. Lac du Bourget's dramatic alpine setting and exceptional depth profile make it one of France's most prized inland dive destinations.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
