Capernwray is one of the UK's most famous inland dive sites, a flooded quarry in Lancashire reaching 22 meters depth with remarkably clear spring-fed water. The site is managed as a dedicated dive center with excellent facilities and features numerous sunken attractions including a plane fuselage, boats, vehicles, and underwater sculptures placed at various depths. The gin-clear water offers visibility of 10-20 meters year-round — exceptional by UK inland standards. Pike, perch, and trout share the water with visiting divers. Though rated advanced for its depth, Capernwray welcomes all levels with shallow areas for training. It is widely regarded as Britain's premier inland dive destination and draws divers from across the country.
