Portnahapple is a beginner-friendly shore dive on the Antrim coast of Northern Ireland, offering easy access to a shallow rocky reef environment reaching 10 meters depth. The sheltered bay provides calm conditions suitable for training dives and first ocean experiences. The rocky shoreline supports populations of wrasse, blennies, crabs, lobsters, and various anemones typical of Northern Irish waters. Kelp forests fringe the shallows, giving way to rocky terrain and sandy patches deeper down. The site is popular with dive clubs from Belfast and the Antrim coast area. The scenic North Antrim coastline — close to the famous Giant's Causeway — provides a stunning backdrop to this accessible Irish Sea dive site.
