Shelter Cove is an advanced dive site off Goa's coast, India, featuring a sheltered rocky bay descending to just 7 meters where an impressive concentration of marine life thrives in the protected waters. Despite the shallow depth, the advanced rating reflects challenging surge conditions and limited visibility that can affect this exposed section of coast. The rocky substrate is covered with hard corals and sponges that attract schools of damselfish, wrasse, and butterflyfish. Cuttlefish are frequently encountered here, displaying their mesmerizing color-changing abilities as they hunt. The cove's rock formations create natural swim-throughs and overhangs where lobsters and moray eels shelter. During the calm season, Shelter Cove transforms into a remarkably productive shallow dive where the density of marine life compensates for the modest depth, making it a favorite among Goa's dive community.
