YANI Shark Agatti is an advanced dive site off Agatti Island in the Lakshadweep archipelago, India, named for the reliable shark encounters at this remote atoll's outer reef wall. The wall drops to 40 meters and beyond, where grey reef sharks, blacktip reef sharks, and occasionally whitetip sharks patrol in impressive numbers. The wall itself features exceptional coral growth including massive table corals, barrel sponges, and gorgonian fans nourished by the open-ocean currents that sweep across the atoll. Schools of trevally, barracuda, and fusilier create a constant spectacle in the blue water column. The site's remote location in the Lakshadweep—accessible only with special permits and limited to a small number of visitors—ensures the reef remains in pristine condition. YANI Shark is one of India's most exclusive and thrilling dive sites, offering big-shark encounters in the crystal-clear waters of a true tropical atoll paradise.
