Capo Grecale Nord is an advanced dive site in Tunisian waters near the Pelagic Islands, where the northeastern cape of Lampedusa drops into the Mediterranean to a dramatic forty meters depth. This deep wall and reef site offers experienced divers access to some of the most pristine Mediterranean underwater environments, with the clear central Mediterranean water providing visibility that can exceed thirty meters. The underwater terrain features a rocky wall that drops from the shallow reef into deep blue water. The forty-meter depth places this firmly in advanced territory, requiring careful gas management and depth discipline. The wall surface is decorated with Mediterranean marine growth including gorgonians, sponges, and encrusting organisms that create a colorful display against the rock. Marine life at this depth includes the larger Mediterranean species. Groupers of impressive size patrol the wall face, while amberjacks and dentex cruise the deeper water. The wall's crevices shelter moray eels and octopus, and the nutrient-rich current that flows past the cape supports a productive food web from invertebrates to apex predators. Capo Grecale Nord represents Mediterranean deep diving at its finest. The combination of dramatic wall topography, exceptional visibility, and the rich marine community creates an advanced dive that showcases the quality available in the central Mediterranean's cleanest waters.
