The Catamaran Wreck is an advanced dive site near the Datça Peninsula in Turkey's Aegean Sea, where the remains of a catamaran vessel rest on the seabed providing atmospheric wreck diving in the warm waters of Turkey's southwestern coast. The twin-hull design creates a distinctive underwater structure that differs from conventional single-hull wrecks. The catamaran's two hulls create parallel structures on the seabed, with the space between them forming a sheltered channel that concentrates marine life. The vessel's construction details are visible despite marine colonization, and the dual-hull architecture provides interesting exploration routes as divers navigate around and between the two halves of the vessel. Marine life has colonized the wreck enthusiastically. Mediterranean species have built a community on the hull surfaces, with sponges, algae, and encrusting organisms transforming the vessel into an artificial reef. Fish shelter within and around the structure, with groupers and sea bream among the most prominent residents. The wreck creates habitat on the otherwise featureless sandy bottom. The Catamaran Wreck adds a unique wreck diving option to the Datça area's portfolio. The distinctive twin-hull architecture and developing marine community create a dive that is both structurally interesting and biologically rewarding for advanced divers.
