The Coast Guard Ship Wreck is an advanced dive site near Bodrum in the Aegean Sea, where a decommissioned Turkish coast guard vessel has been sunk to create an artificial reef and wreck diving attraction. This vessel adds to the impressive collection of purpose-sunk wrecks that has made the Bodrum area one of Turkey's premier wreck diving destinations. The coast guard ship sits on the Aegean seabed, its operational profile still visible despite the marine growth that is gradually transforming it into a living reef. The vessel's deck equipment, bridge structure, and hull lines remain identifiable, creating an exploration experience that connects divers to the vessel's working life patrolling Turkish coastal waters. Prepared access points allow interior penetration for certified wreck divers. Marine colonization is well established. Mediterranean species have built a community on and around the wreck, with sponges, soft corals, and algae coating the hull. Fish populations have developed, with groupers claiming territories within the structure and schools of bream and wrasse orbiting the exterior. The wreck creates an oasis of hard substrate that supports far more life than the surrounding sandy bottom. The Coast Guard Ship Wreck provides another dimension to Bodrum's wreck diving portfolio. Combined with the SG-115 and the C-47 Dakota, it gives the area an exceptional concentration of purpose-sunk wrecks that collectively create one of Turkey's most compelling diving destinations.
