Cook Island is a beginner-friendly dive and snorkel site near Tweed Heads on the NSW-Queensland border. This marine reserve surrounding a small rocky island is famous for its resident population of sea turtles, including green and loggerhead turtles that rest on the shallow reef ledges. The protected waters also support leopard sharks, wobbegong sharks, rays, and colorful reef fish. The shallow, calm conditions make it one of the best sites in the region for new divers and snorkelers.
