Kelso Boat Ramp is an advanced dive site near George Town in northern Tasmania. Despite its unassuming name, this site descends to 40 meters along a sloping reef in the Tamar River estuary. The cold, nutrient-rich Tasmanian waters support an extraordinary diversity of temperate marine life including weedy seadragons, handfish, giant spider crabs, and colorful sponge gardens. The site is known for challenging conditions including cold water, tidal currents, and limited visibility that demand experience.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
