Papa Doc Wreck in the Bahamas is an advanced wreck dive on a former Haitian freighter scuttled in the 1960s. The vessel rests upright on a sandy bottom, its hull now heavily colonized by coral growth and large barrel sponges. The wreck's interior is partially accessible through wide openings, revealing the engine room and cargo holds where glassy sweepers form shimmering clouds. Large green moray eels inhabit the lower decks, and the wreck's superstructure attracts schools of horse-eye jacks. The ship's history and rich marine colonization make each dive a journey through both human and natural heritage.
