The Notch on Conception Island is an advanced dive featuring a dramatic erosion cut in the island's western wall. This geological feature creates a narrow canyon with vertical walls rising 20 meters on either side, funneling current and concentrating marine life. Black groupers and horse-eye jacks patrol the canyon, while the walls are covered with encrusting sponges and deepwater sea fans. The notch opens to the deep shelf edge where oceanic encounters are possible. Strong currents require good timing and solid diving skills to navigate safely.
