Alouette Lake near Maple Ridge, British Columbia, is an advanced freshwater dive in a deep glacial lake reaching 159 meters at its maximum. The lake sits within Golden Ears Provincial Park, surrounded by towering mountains and old-growth forest. The upper layers provide recreational diving with excellent visibility through the clear mountain water. Submerged trees, rocky slopes, and sandy shelves create varied underwater terrain. The lake supports populations of rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and kokanee salmon visible during their spawning runs. The significant depth and cold temperatures below the thermocline require proper planning and equipment for safe exploration.
