Mill Cove Beach in Nova Scotia is a beginner-friendly shore dive on a sheltered beach along St. Margarets Bay. The wide sandy beach provides an easy entry into calm waters that slope gradually over a mixed bottom. Rocky outcrops rise from the sandy seabed creating mini-reef habitats that concentrate marine life. The typical Nova Scotia cold-water community is well-represented with lobsters, sea stars, crabs, and schools of cunner. The beach's gentle slope allows for extended shallow dives, making it perfect for training and for divers building confidence in their cold-water skills during the summer diving season.
