YOGN 82 near Powell River, British Columbia, is an advanced wreck dive on a deliberately sunk US Navy fuel barge that has become one of the Pacific Northwest's most impressive artificial reefs. The large steel vessel sits upright at depth, its flat deck and open holds providing extensive exploration opportunities. The wreck has been colonized by an extraordinary abundance of Pacific marine life — giant Pacific octopus, wolf eels, massive lingcod, and dense clouds of rockfish swarm the structure. Plumose anemones carpet every surface in whites and oranges. The depth and cold water require advanced certification and dry suit experience, but the marine life density is simply world-class.
