Mola Mola is a beginner-friendly dive site near Papudo on Chile's central coast, named after the ocean sunfish occasionally spotted in these waters. The rocky reef features easy access and gentle conditions, with kelp forests providing habitat for diverse invertebrate communities. Sea urchins, starfish, and colorful anemones decorate the rock surfaces, while schools of small fish weave through the kelp fronds. The site's name hints at the exciting possibility of encountering the massive ocean sunfish that sometimes visits these Humboldt Current-influenced waters.
