Bajos del Tiburón near the Choros-Dama Islands in northern Chile is an intermediate dive site in the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve. This protected marine area features rocky reef systems where the cold Humboldt Current creates one of the most biodiverse underwater environments in Chile. Divers may encounter bottlenose dolphins, Humboldt penguins swimming underwater, sea lions, and dense schools of fish around the reef structures. The intermediate conditions and reserve status ensure both challenging diving and pristine marine ecosystems rarely found elsewhere along the Chilean coast.
