La Pared (The Wall) at the Choros-Dama Islands is an intermediate dive featuring a dramatic underwater cliff within Chile's Humboldt Penguin National Reserve. The vertical rock face drops into the deep, its surface covered with cold-water anemones, sponges, and encrusting organisms. The nutrient-rich Humboldt Current supports dense marine life along the wall, including large starfish, sea urchins, and schools of fish. Diving in this protected reserve offers encounters with sea lions and the possibility of spotting Humboldt penguins darting through the water.
