Kloster is a beginner-friendly freshwater dive site on the Rhine River near the Swiss-German border. Named after a nearby historic monastery, this gentle river dive offers a scenic underwater experience with a moderate current that gently carries divers downstream. The riverbed consists of pebbles and larger stones with patches of aquatic vegetation. Common species include trout, barbel, chub, and the occasional eel. The shallow depth profile and manageable current make Kloster suitable for those new to river diving, though basic open-water certification is required. Best dived during summer months when water temperatures are more comfortable, Kloster is a charming introduction to Rhine diving.
