Ludwigshafen Lehmschiff is an advanced freshwater dive site on Lake Constance (Bodensee) in southern Germany. The name refers to a historic clay barge that sank in the lake and now rests on the bottom, creating an intriguing wreck dive in a freshwater setting. The vessel is partially silted but still recognizable, with sections providing shelter for pike, perch, and eel. The surrounding lake bottom features a gentle slope with submerged vegetation and scattered debris. Visibility can be challenging due to silt disturbance, and the depth combined with cold temperatures demands proper exposure protection and experience. This unique inland wreck offers a fascinating alternative to ocean wreck diving for central European divers.
