Karlstrup Kalkgrav is a beginner-friendly freshwater dive site in Zealand, Denmark. This flooded chalk quarry offers a unique inland diving experience with remarkably clear water, a characteristic of chalk quarry lakes. The pale chalk walls and bottom create a distinctive underwater landscape with turquoise-tinted visibility. Submerged structures and training platforms have been installed for dive education. Pike, perch, and other freshwater species inhabit the quarry. The controlled, calm environment with no current makes it perfect for training dives and equipment testing. Karlstrup Kalkgrav is popular with Copenhagen-area dive schools as a convenient and visually striking training venue offering conditions rarely matched by other inland dive sites in the region.
