Fænø Sund is a beginner-friendly dive site in southern Denmark, located in the strait between the island of Fænø and the Jutland mainland near Middelfart. This sheltered sound provides calm conditions ideal for new divers exploring Danish waters. The seabed features a mix of sand, gravel, and scattered boulders with kelp and eelgrass beds. Cod, flounder, wrasses, and hermit crabs are commonly spotted, along with seasonal jellyfish. The sound's relatively shallow and protected waters make it a safe environment for training dives. Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
