Akassia Housereef

Akassia Housereef is an intermediate shore dive at the Akassia Resort near El Quseir, offering a well-developed fringing reef accessible directly from the beach. The reef features impressive hard coral formations with large Porites colonies and branching Acropora gardens. A resident population of green turtles frequents the seagrass beds adjacent to the reef. The deeper reef slope reveals overhangs sheltering glassfish and soldierfish, while octopus and cuttlefish hunt along the reef edge at dusk.
