Dangerous Reef South is an aptly named advanced dive site in the Saint Johns region, known for its strong currents and exceptional shark encounters. The southern face of this offshore reef features dramatic overhangs and caverns encrusted with soft corals. The powerful currents create upwellings that attract large pelagic species — grey reef sharks, hammerheads, and oceanic whitetips are all possible. The reef wall showcases some of the most pristine soft coral growth in the Egyptian Red Sea. This demanding dive rewards experienced divers with truly wild, unspoiled marine encounters.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
