Shag Rock is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Strait of Gubal, Egypt's Red Sea, at a small rocky outcrop breaking the surface. The underwater formation features colorful coral-covered walls dropping to a sandy bottom. The compact site hosts an impressive concentration of marine life for its size, including resident moray eels, lionfish, and cleaning stations. Blue-spotted stingrays rest on the sand while schools of fusiliers circle above. An enjoyable and easy dive that punches above its weight in terms of marine life encounters.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
