
Maxwell's Reef is an intermediate dive site near Taba in the Gulf of Aqaba, named after a local diving pioneer. The reef features a sloping wall with healthy coral formations and interesting overhangs. Schools of anthias and damselfish populate the reef crest, while the deeper sections reveal gorgonian fans and larger predatory fish. The excellent visibility typical of the northern Gulf of Aqaba allows divers to appreciate the full scale of the reef structure. A reliable site offering consistent marine life encounters.
