Kaupinoja is a beginner-friendly freshwater dive site in Western Finland, located near Tampere where a popular swimming and sauna area doubles as an accessible entry point for divers. The lake bottom features a gradual slope with sand, rocks, and scattered vegetation. Perch, roach, and the occasional pike inhabit these waters, going about their business oblivious to visiting divers. The site is particularly popular for ice diving in winter, when the frozen lake surface and crystal-clear cold water create an otherworldly atmosphere beneath the ice. Summer diving offers warmer conditions and the convenience of nearby facilities including the historic Kaupinoja sauna.
