Black Wall is a beginner-friendly wall dive in the Lomaiviti Group, Fiji's central island chain east of Viti Levu. The reef wall gets its name from the dense covering of black coral trees that grow on its surface, creating a dramatic dark backdrop against which colourful soft corals and reef fish stand out vividly. The wall is accessible at shallow depths, with the most impressive coral growth in the 10-20 metre range. Lionfish hover beneath overhangs, while hawkfish perch on the black coral branches. The Lomaiviti Group sees fewer divers than Fiji's more famous regions, offering a quieter, more personal diving experience with healthy, uncrowded reefs.
