P47 de Miomo is the wreck of a P-47 Thunderbolt fighter aircraft from World War II, resting at 19 meters depth off the coast near Bastia in northern Corsica. This American fighter plane was lost during the liberation of Corsica in 1943-1944, when the island served as a crucial Allied air base. Despite its relatively shallow depth, the site is rated advanced due to potential currents and the historical sensitivity of the wreck. The compact aircraft is well-preserved, with the distinctive radial engine and robust fuselage still identifiable beneath a coating of marine growth. This site is a remarkable underwater memorial to the WWII air campaign in the Mediterranean.

Absolutely stunning dive site. The visibility was exceptional and we spotted several species we had never seen before. Will definitely come back.
Great spot for advanced divers. Currents can be tricky but the marine life makes it worth it.
One of the best dive sites in the region. Highly recommended.
