Babbacombe Beach is a popular shore dive in Torbay, Devon, offering beginner-friendly access to a varied rocky reef environment reaching 12 meters depth. The sheltered bay below the red sandstone cliffs provides calm entry conditions via a gently sloping pebble beach. Underwater, kelp-covered boulders, sandy patches, and rocky gullies host an impressive variety of marine life including cuttlefish, wrasse, blennies, spider crabs, and nudibranchs. The site is particularly valued for night diving when lobsters, octopuses, and bioluminescent organisms emerge. Babbacombe is a cornerstone of the Torbay diving scene and serves as both a training site and a rewarding recreational dive for the south Devon diving community.
