The Louis Sheid is a wreck dive off the south Devon coast near Salcombe, the remains of a vessel lying at around 12 meters depth on a rocky seabed. Despite the relatively shallow depth, the advanced rating reflects the exposed location, tidal currents, and variable visibility typical of this stretch of the English Channel coast. The wreck structure has become an artificial reef hosting dense marine life: conger eels, lobsters, wrasse, and schools of bib populate the metalwork, while hydroids and sponges encrust the surfaces. The Louis Sheid offers a manageable introduction to wreck diving in Devon waters for those comfortable with the challenging conditions of the southwest coast.
