Gannet's Bay is a sheltered dive site on the eastern side of Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel, part of England's first Marine Conservation Zone. This beginner-friendly site reaches around 12 meters depth along a rocky reef of granite boulders and kelp gardens. The protected marine status ensures thriving populations of lobsters, crabs, jewel anemones, dead men's fingers, and dense fish life. Grey seals frequently visit divers here, approaching with characteristic curiosity. The eastern aspect provides shelter from prevailing westerly swells, making Gannet's Bay one of the most reliable dive sites on the island. It serves as an excellent introduction to Lundy's extraordinary underwater world before tackling the island's more exposed sites.
