Barracuda Reef

Barracuda Reef off Zakynthos is an advanced deep dive in the Ionian Sea, plunging to 40 meters along a massive underwater reef system. True to its name, large schools of Mediterranean barracuda are a regular highlight, circling above the reef crest in shimmering formations. The reef walls are covered in gorgonian fans and colorful sponges, while the deeper ledges shelter large groupers, dentex, and moray eels. Strong currents bring nutrient-rich water that supports exceptional marine biodiversity, making this one of Zakynthos's most exciting pelagic dive sites.
