Elephant Reef off Zakynthos is an advanced dive reaching 30 meters, named for a massive rock formation resembling an elephant's head on the island's western coast. The reef drops steeply into deep blue Ionian water, with walls decorated by dense gorgonian forests and orange cup corals. The site's position along the dramatic cliffs of Zakynthos's west coast attracts pelagic species including tuna, amberjack, and occasional dolphins. Overhangs and small caves provide shelter for groupers and moray eels, completing a dive that combines spectacular topography with rich marine encounters.
