Bintang Reef is a beginner-friendly dive site in the Thousand Islands near Jakarta, named 'star' in Indonesian. The reef features a gentle coral slope with a mix of hard coral formations, sponges, and soft corals creating a colorful underwater garden. Schools of anthias and damselfish hover above the corals, while lionfish and scorpionfish rest among the branches. Blue-spotted stingrays are commonly seen on the sandy patches, and the overall biodiversity is impressive for a reef so close to a major metropolitan area. Bintang Reef offers a pleasant and accessible diving experience in the Pulau Seribu marine park.
