La Secca del Castello is an advanced dive off Calabria's Tyrrhenian coast, where a submerged rocky reef rises beneath a historic clifftop castle. The pinnacle ascends from deep water, its walls draped with Mediterranean gorgonians, yellow cluster anemones, and patches of red coral in the deeper sections. Schools of barracuda and amberjack circle the summit, while lobsters and large grouper hide in the rocky overhangs. Strong currents can sweep the site, demanding confident navigation skills. The dramatic castle perched above adds a unique atmosphere to this impressive Calabrian dive.
