Scoglio della Cernia, named after the grouper that inhabit this site, is a rocky shoal off the Tremiti Islands offering excellent diving for all levels. Large boulders create a labyrinth of swim-throughs, overhangs, and crevices where dusky grouper — some impressively large — are the star attraction. The rocks are draped with orange and purple sponges, sea fans, and dense colonies of bryozoans. Damselfish and chromis create a shimmering cloud above the reef. The Tremiti marine reserve's protection ensures healthy fish populations and outstanding underwater biodiversity.
